WELCOME TO ST. ANDREW'S HOSPITALITY HOUSE
|
Thank you for supporting St. Andrew's Hospitality House as we complete our 5th year of providing temporary, no cost lodging to families of medical patients receiving treatment in Las Cruces. In past years, we have had an annual Gala event to raise additional funds. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, we are unable to join together in fun and celebration.
The Hospitality House has remained open all year even with the addition of the new Delta Variant of Covid 19. Under the guidelines of New Mexico Dept. of Health, the house is at 50% capacity. Only two rooms are available and only two guests per room. The staff work hard to keep the house sanitized, providing disinfectant wipes, had sanitizer and face masks for all guest. |
St. Andrew’s Hospitality House is a welcoming oasis for out of town families who are visiting a loved one in a local medical facility and cannot afford a place to stay. The Hospitality House offers a safe, secure, no cost room to family members while their loved one is receiving treatment. Up to four families can be housed at one time in one of the four bedrooms with private baths. One bedroom is handicapped accessible. The great room provides a fully stocked kitchen for the use of our guests and dining area and family area with a large TV. The Hospitality House is non-denominational and open to all families in need. Our vision is to extend Christian hospitality to those in greatest need in a supportive environment.
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church has a long history of being a welcoming community with a strong lay ministry. We had a great opportunity to help those in need by creating the Hospitality House. St. Andrew’s Hospitality House is the latest example of our outreach, not only to our community but to the surrounding towns. We want to make a difference to the lives of those families. We are committed to nurturing not only the families but all those who give their time and resources to maintain the project. In Southern New Mexico hundreds of caregivers travel long distances to our regional hospitals to support an ill family member. Hospitality Houses are at the forefront of interventions for health and wellness.
The St. Andrew’s Hospitality House is now completed. We have served many families in their time of need. The families have been extremely thankful for the care and concern they have experienced at St. Andrew’s Hospitality House. We look forward to meeting our future guests and offering support during their time in Las Cruces, NM.
